Maquivol is a videogame development studio based in Mexico City composed of creative people related by their passion for technology, audiovisual arts and history. It was founded in 2010 with the mission to express the world fun, innovative and addictive ideas and become one of the pioneers of the videogame industry in Mexico. Maquivol is currently independently developing and producing their long-life title 'Al Grito de Guerra' - A multiplayer first-person shooter set during the Mexican Revolution, in the 1910's. Historically accurate characters, weapons and scenarios alongside balanced gameplay are key concepts in the game.

Al Grito de Guerra started as a set of maps for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, made by the cofounders of Maquivol in an amicable competition over who made the best Mexican inspired map". This setting, the bolt-action mauser rifle and the year 2010 (the Centenary of the start of the Mexican Revolution) naturally led the team to the key concept of the game

The start of Maquivol

In 2012, the cofounders got a grant and internship in the Center for Technology And Innovation in Mexico City, to further develop the prototype of Al Grito De Guerra. There, they met more individuals that believed in the project and together they decided to form a game development studio.

After that

Developing games in Mexico is difficult, but Maquivol is very passionate about making games and help grow the Mexican videogame industry.
