Based in Mexico City
Al Grito de Guerra is a multiplayer first-person shooter set in the Mexican Revolution, a civil war between 1910 and 1920. It highlights the unique battlefield experience of early 20th century warfare, where traditional techniques like cavalry charges and melee combat clashed against new weapons like machineguns, repeating rifles and the airplane.
Al Grito de Guerra started as a set of maps for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, made by the cofounders of Maquivol in a friendly competition over who made the best Mexican inspired map. The setting, the bolt-action rifles and the year 2010 (the Centenary of the start of the Mexican Revolution) naturally led the two friends to the key concept of the game.
